Ingredients

  • 1 pound rainbow trout fillet
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh dill (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Place a sheet of aluminum foil large enough to fully enclose the trout on a baking sheet.
  2. Set the trout in the center of the foil and season it with salt and black pepper. Pour the melted butter evenly over the fish, then scatter the garlic and dill on top.
  3. Fold and seal the foil around the trout, covering it completely.
  4. Bake for about 13 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork and reaches 145°F in the thickest part.
  5. Carefully open the packet and broil the trout for 3 minutes before serving.

Notes

Cooking time may vary with the thickness of the fillet. Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for 3–4 days, or freeze them for 2–3 months. Reheat the trout in a pan or broil it for 1–2 minutes to help preserve its texture.
